Canadian Rock Royalty Ignites River Cree: Prism & Aldo Nova Deliver a Night of Pure Arena Rock Power
The Venue at the River Cree Resort & Casino was transformed into a time machine Friday night as Canadian rock legends Aldo Nova and Prism brought decades of hits, soaring guitar solos, and unapologetic arena-rock swagger and gave us an unforgettable night.
From the moment the lights dropped, it was clear this wasn't going to be a nostalgia act—it was a reminder of why these artists remain staples of Canadian rock history
Michael T Ross and Dario Seixas
Taking the stage first, Aldo Nova gave a masterclass of rock. The Montreal-born guitar hero stormed the stage with the same fire that made him a household name in the early '80s. Instantly commanding the room, Nova ripped through a set loaded with fan favourites, showcasing the guitar work and powerful vocals that helped define a generation of rock radio.
When the unmistakable opening notes of Fantasy rang out, the audience erupted. Nova's guitar playing remained blistering and precise, proving why he continues to be regarded as one of Canada's premier rock musicians. Between songs, he mixed humour, gratitude, and stories from a career spanning more than four decades, connecting with fans who have followed him since the beginning.
Al Harlow and Greg Cox
Prism hit the stage and wasted no time launching into a set packed with classics. Led by founding member Al Harlow, the band sounded sharp, energetic, and determined to prove that songs like Spaceship Superstar, Take Me to the Kaptin, Armageddon, still have plenty of fuel left in the tank. Backed by drummer Gary Grace, keyboardist Marc Gladstone, and bassist Greg Cox, Prism delivered a polished, hard-hitting performance that had fans singing every word.
A very patriotic moment as the intro to Armageddon played had the fans cheering as they hoisted the Canadian flag.
The crowd roared as Harlow paid tribute to the band's long history while celebrating the next chapter of Prism's legacy. The chemistry between the musicians was undeniable, and every song landed with the confidence of a band that knows exactly who they are.
Jack Frost and Aldo Nova
Together, Prism and Aldo Nova created the perfect double bill—two iconic Canadian acts delivering hit after hit without relying on gimmicks or nostalgia. Just great songs, great musicianship, and enough classic rock energy to shake the walls of the River Cree.
For one night, the golden age of Canadian arena rock wasn't a memory—it was alive, loud, and kicking harder than ever.
Thanks to Al Harlow and the River Cree crew for an unforgettable night!
